Old Chemistry Building Room 214A

This room is the newest lecture/laboratories for the Department. The room is equipped with the following:

    • Gigabyte LAN

  • Seven sink counter for hydrogeology
  • Wireless (IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g) access for students
Old Chemistry Building Room 214B

This room has been designated as the "Senior Design Laboratory". Students enrolled in GE 451 and GE 452 have priority access to the equipment within this room. All other students may use this facility on a first-come basis. The equipment in the room includes:

  • Seven PC Windows OS computers
  • UNIX Ultra Sparc2 Workstation
  • GTCO Digitizing table
  • HP 1220 Color Inkjet Printer
    • Capable of 11x17 page size prints
  • HP 4500 Laser Printer
  • Wireless (IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g) access for students
  • HP 755 CM 36" Designjet Plotter
  • HP 3500 Scanner
  • DVD-RW and CD-RW drives
Old Chemistry Building Room 216

This room is The University of Mississippi Geoinformatics Center's Geoinformatics Learning Laboratory (GLL). The equipment in the room is available to the Department GIS and Remote Sensing laboratory exercises and includes:

  • Twenty-seven PC Windows based computers
  • Unix SUN Enterprise 3500 Server
    • 8 processors
    • 4 GB RAM
    • 1.2 TB disk storage
  • HP 800 PS 42" Plotter
  • HP 5500 Laserjet Printer
    • Capable of 11x17 page size prints
  • Wireless (IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g) access for students
  • 2000 Lumen Overhead Projection
    • RCA analog video
    • 15-Pin Video
  • 1250 Watt - 5 speaker sound system
  • VideoDiadic System to control student computers
  • SmartBoard's Sympodium
